The Clean Coasts Corporate Volunteering programme is a great opportunity for your company to make a tangible and immediate improvement to Kerry’s coastal environment. It is also a fantastic team building and personal development opportunity for employees outside of the normal working environment. Your day in Kerry will involve a beach, river or canal clean depending on what suits your group. We will also provide a safety talk at the start of the day and then break up the clean-up with educational talks and team building games.

Clean Coasts have the capacity to expand out on other conservation work on a case to case basis depending on the time of the year, group size and state of coastal ecosystems.

How does it work?

All logistics of a CSR action day will be organised by Clean Coasts, which include liaising about a specific location, timing, providing a briefing document, arranging for rubbish collection point, providing all equipment needed and leading the group in all activities on the day. With agreement, the valuable action day will be promoted through all its’ social media platforms and through the 650+ network of community Clean Coast groups in the country.

For Action days, Clean Coasts can facilitate all size of groups from as small as 5 up to 200 volunteers. To ensure appropriate engagement and management, they stick to the ratio of one facilitator to approx. 30 volunteers. With larger groups the donation we ask for would increase to cover costs.

Action days can be organised throughout the coastline of Kerry and Clean Coasts can facilitate both half day (3 hours) and full day sessions (5 hours). As a charitable organisation, Clean Coasts ask for a donation to cover the cost of facilitation of the beach clean with the majority going towards its’ Clean Coasts grants scheme. For a 3-hour session, it is a donation of approx.€500 and for a 5-hour session approx. €750.

For corporate volunteering days, Clean Coasts will ask for a donation, depending on the group. On these days, they can facilitate a small group of less than 10 people right through to large groups of up to 300. The donations from all Corporate Social Responsibility activities are put into a budget that facilitate grants for its Clean Coasts groups.

The corporate volunteering days can be booked Monday to Friday starting at 10am or 1pm (these times are flexible) and operate throughout the duration of the year. Please note, spaces book up very quickly during the warmer months, so it is advised to book with as much advance notice as possible.
