Last week, in conjunction with the Cantillon Conference and Kerry Business Leaders Dinner, founding Kerry Ambassadors from the Kerry Ambassador Programme were brought together for a day of valuable networking and engagement with their fellow Ambassadors, industry leaders and county representatives. The GDS-Index is the world’s leading sustainability performance benchmarking and improvement programme, designed to make business and leisure tourism industry more sustainable. Its mission is to engage, inspire and enable destinations to become more sustainable places to visit, meet and thrive in.

Kerry has retained its place in the Global Destination Sustainability Index (GDS-Index) Top 20 for the fifth consecutive year, firmly establishing the county as Ireland’s leading Sustainable Tourism destination, ranking 19 out of 100 international destinations. The GDS-Index is the world’s leading sustainability performance benchmarking and improvement programme, designed to make business and leisure tourism industry more sustainable. Its mission is to engage, inspire and enable destinations to become more sustainable places to visit, meet and thrive in.

Last weekend, Kerry Convention Bureau showcased Kerry as a unique and inspiring business events destination to 14 influential Meetings, Incentives, Conference and Exhibition (MICE) event planners, hailing from the United Kingdom and Ireland. Held in partnership with SITE (Society for Incentive Travel Excellence) and Fáilte Ireland, the immersive destination showcase provided the opportunity for the invited event planners to come and experience a taster of what Kerry has to offer for incentive events over an action packed two- day, two-night educational programme and connect them with local business event suppliers.
