Kerry holds Business Events Showcase: Meetings infrastructure and sustainability key focus throughout programme

16 October 2024 Last weekend, the Kerry Convention Bureau (KCB) proudly showcased Kerry as a globally recognised sustainable business events destination, where inspiration, innovation, and excellence meet warm hospitality. The event welcomed eight influential Meetings, Incentives, Conference, and Exhibition (MICE) planners from the United Kingdom and Ireland. Kerry maintains its position as Ireland’s leading Sustainable Tourism destination & #13 globally in 2022 GDS Index

Kerry has maintained its ranking in the Global Destination Sustainability Index (GDS-Index) Top 30 to be officially recognised as the leading Sustainable Tourism destination in Ireland, number 13 in the world overall, and number six in Europe out of 65 destinations, across the globe. European Outdoor Educators Conference

The EOE conference is the annual event of the European Institute for Outdoor Adventure Education and Experiential Learning. This was the first occasion that the event was held in Ireland. This year’s conference was hosted by Institute of Technology Tralee. IT Tralee holds the UNESCO Chair in Inclusive PE, Sport, Recreation and Fitness.

The EOE Network is a vibrant association of outdoor education practitioners and academics from around Europe, with other delegates attending from across the globe. The three-day conference reflected that mix with practitioner case studies, practical workshops and academic presentations.

Kerry ranks #20 on 2019 Global Destination Sustainability Index and #1 Most Improved Destination

The GDS- Index is a collaborative international organisation that ranks business tourism destinations in terms of how sustainable they are for hosting meetings, incentive, conferences and events (MICE). Its purpose is to engage, inspire and enable destinations to become more sustainable places to visit, meet and thrive in. To be considered for inclusion, MICE destinations from around the world complete a comprehensive annual submission process and are assessed on factors such as the environment, social indexes, supplier performance and the convention bureau itself. KCB Member Hotels recognised in TripAdvisor Ireland’s Top 25 Awards
