Kerry maintains its position as Ireland’s leading Sustainable Tourism destination & #13 globally in 2022 GDS Index

Kerry has maintained its ranking in the Global Destination Sustainability Index (GDS-Index) Top 30 to be officially recognised as the leading Sustainable Tourism destination in Ireland, number 13 in the world overall, and number six in Europe out of 65 destinations, across the globe. Kerry Convention Bureau announces new Chairperson

Kerry Convention Bureau (KCB) is pleased to announce the appointment of Breffní Ingerton, Director of Business Tourism for the Gleneagle Group, as its new Chairperson. The announcement was made by outgoing Chairperson Mike Buckley, Managing Director of Kerry Coaches Ltd, who has served in the role for almost seven years. Speaking at a virtual #MeetInKerry St. Patrick’s Day event, attended by over 40 KCB members, last week Mr. Buckley said: “On behalf of the KCB Board we are delighted to welcome Breffní into the role of Chairperson. Breffní is an experienced industry professional, she is extremely knowledgeable with a wealth of business tourism, festivals and events experience. She is highly regarded in the industry both at home and abroad.”

European Outdoor Educators Conference

The EOE conference is the annual event of the European Institute for Outdoor Adventure Education and Experiential Learning. This was the first occasion that the event was held in Ireland. This year’s conference was hosted by Institute of Technology Tralee. IT Tralee holds the UNESCO Chair in Inclusive PE, Sport, Recreation and Fitness.

The EOE Network is a vibrant association of outdoor education practitioners and academics from around Europe, with other delegates attending from across the globe. The three-day conference reflected that mix with practitioner case studies, practical workshops and academic presentations.
